Design and Implementation of a Sensor Network Node for Ubiquitous Computing Environment

چکیده
“Smart” and “attentive” services using users’ context are going to be realized in future ubiquitous computing environment. Sensor network is receiving considerable attention as one of the key technologies to keep track of the users’ context in the real world. Conventional sensor network research mainly aimed at environmental monitoring. However requirements of the sensor network infrastructure for ubiquitous computing is different from the one for conventional environmental monitoring. We have developed a sensor network testbed named “U” to investigate issues that could arise when developing novel applications in a ubiquitous computing environment. U is a wireless sensor node that is capable of communicating with other nodes to carry sensing data and queries issued by users. In this paper we describe hardware and software architecture of U and present the performance evaluation of a sample application developed on U. Recently, wireless sensor network (WSN) is the popular scope of research. It uses too many applications such as military and non-military. WSN is a base of the Internet of Things (IoT), pervasive computing. It consists of many nodes which are deployed in a specific filed for sense and forward data to the destination node. Routing in WSN is a very important issue because of the limitation of the...

Wireless sensor networks(WSN) have unique properties that distinguished them from other wireless networks and have special challenges. Not-chargeable, not-changeable and limited power supplies of sensor nodes is the most important challenge of this networks, and if the power supply of node expired, a part of data maybe lost. Because of the importance of covers in wireless sensors, in this work ...
